FALL WINTER 2019: Romance Was Born

Australian based, Romance Was Born is designed by Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales. Their Fall Winter 2019 collection features eclectic party ready ensembles. I haven't written about fashion shows in years, as making art and home decor drew my focus more over time. However, I still love fashion. Oddly this collection drew me, because I've been looking for colorful kimono inspired jackets, sculptural pieces, and am tempted to buy sparkly fishnets for the rare occasion that I dress up for a party. Sometimes you just want to feel elegant and dress up in something over the top. This collection reminds me of Paul Poiret's designs from the early 20th century mixed with some Mod looks from the 60s and the obvious Japanese inspiration. There's definitely an artsy vibe to all of their designs, as if an artist or art appreciator wanted to wear art. How many more time can I say art?
