DESIGNER INSPIRED: Rebecca Minkoff F/W 2015 - Look #16

This outfit is inspired by look #16 from Rebecca Minkoff's Fall Winter 2015 collection. I like the styling of this outfit, giving it an eclectic mix of accessories and patterns. For this recreation, I found a dress with a similar style print, but black and white with a higher neckline. The bag has tassels, shape, and pattern similar to the designer version. This one doesn't have a strap, but you could add one one. For a closer recreation of the designer bag, you could find a boxy second hand bag, use a pattern guitar strap, and add tassels where the strap attaches. For the other accessories, I could find closer matches...a fedora, pattern knit stockings, slouchy over the knee boots, and a feather necklace. The designer boots are open toe, but I've never liked that trend, so I went with a more wearable version. Since the dress is black and white, I chose a black hat. This type of knit stocking comes in many different patterns. You might be able to mix and match a few things you already have in your wardrobe. Since this outfit is from a Fall/Winter collection, to warm it up and keep the vibe, you could layer on a long boyfriend cardigan, that meets the dress length. If it's too cold for the lacy stockings, wear dark grey tights. If you have black knee high boots, use black over the knee socks to give that extra length. There is something about boots or socks that come across the thigh that is so sexy. Hiding your knees, and wearing a short dress, where just a bit of flesh peeks out, is sexy in a similar way to ankles and wrists 100 years ago.
