PARIS FASHION WEEK F/W 2014: Talbot Runhof

Talbot Runhof's Fall Winter 2014 collection is inspired by the 1970s, but done in a classy way. I like when designers pull inspiration from the past, and rework it into something modern and on trend. The stylized flowers, color washes, geometric stripes, polka dots, and abstract textures are seen in many collections in the designer's own version. I love the play with pairing different prints together. Reminds me of how a painting includes different elements, and in this case the body is the wall and the cloth the canvas. That play pushes what we think of basics and how monochromatic fabrics can be worn. This makes me want to play with prints and dying in my own work.
