PARIS FASHION WEEK F/W 2014: Elie Saab

Elie Saab's Fall Winter 2014 collection, had a mix of ombres in different fabrics including chiffon and velvet. There were solid colors and a painterly floral print that matched the ombre dresses. These are great formal event and office looks. The pantsuits and shorter dresses are great for office wear. While I loved a majority of the collection, there was section featuring looks large sequins, that were too chunky and not flattering. Sequin fabric tends to be thick and heavy from the dense makeup of it. Still, I love seeing the ombre, especially in the velvet and chiffon. If you are a crafter, you know that ombre was popular last summer in all sorts of crafting, and even hair, makeup, and nails. However, I haven't seen a lot of it in designer collections. This is a nice dark ombre that might be more wearable than the brighter ones I normally see. To see the full collection, watch the runway show at the bottom of this post.
