LONDON FASHION WEEK F/W 2014: Mary Katrantzou

These are my favorite looks from Mary Katrantzou's Fall Winter 2014 collection. Mary is known for her graphic digitally printed fabrics. This collection is a break from years of that concept, but not without the quirkiness. Instead of prints, she used complicated embroideries, laces, beadwork, and metalwork. From far away, the collection looks fairly normal with a medieval inspiration. When you get up closer, it's full of symbols and signs that we are used to seeing...bubble men, TVs, traffic signs, and scroll work. For me, I find the digital prints more wearable, but I understand as an artist, needing a break from years of the same concept.

These are detail photos of the collection, so you get a better look at the intricate fabrics.
