NYC FASHION WEEK S/S 2014: Zimmerman

Zimmerman's Spring Summer 2014 collection is lovely with geometric cuts and flowing fabrics. I looked through the whole collection and chose the strongest looks to share below. I love the combination of the unusual cuts with wrapping, cropping, cut outs, flowing sections, and bias fabrics. Wraps, cut outs, crops, and bias cuts are very body conscious looks. They don't work for a large range of sizes, however they look lovely on athletic, slender, small chested, and some hourglass figures. Even then, they can be hard to wear. If you want to wear something similar to these looks, I suggest trying it on in the store before buying it. I tried on about 15 crop tops before I found a fitted on that worked, and it gets a lot of use. Bias cuts are tricky on anyone, and especially if the bias has been altered like the patchwork like skirt on the bottom model. I've tried on a few cut out pieces that looked fantastic, and many that looked better on the hanger than on me. It's all about body shape and placement when it comes to body con designs. However, if you don't try it, no matter what body type you have, you'll never know if it will work. You might be surprised.
