NYC FASHION WEEK S/S 2014: Rebecca Minkoff

Rebecca Minkoff's Spring Summer 2014 collection, pulls from Mexican culture using embroidery, oil clothesque floral prints, serape stripes, and papel picado influenced lace. In combination with the Mexican inspired pieces, there were some sporty stripes. Some of them worked well, and others not as much. Soccer/Football is a big part of their culture, but I'm not a sporty gal, so I'm not drawn to that look. However, a majority of the collection is very wearable. The 2nd look has a shirt with "Let's go to Mexico" written on the front with some lovely birds. This look is my favorite, and really captures the theme of the collection. Styling wise, I love the Frida style braided hair, and Aztec gladiator sandals. I'll have to do a styling set around at least one of these looks.
