BEAUTY HAUL: March Goodies

I didn't purchase much this month, since I'm pretty well stocked on products for now. While in Massanutten, I found a few goodies at Walmart and Dollar General. The other day, I went to Clinique at Macy's to get some basic products and a Gift with Purchase. All of these products should be easy still.

I've been really into shadow sticks and jumbo eye pencils lately. They make a nice sticky base for eyeshadows, so my eye makeup stays on for many hours...a ridiculous amount of time. At Walmart, I bought the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks in Guilt Grey and Blackmail. At Dollar General, I bought the L.A Colors Jumbo Eye Pencils in Tropical Bliss (purple), Summer Love (teal), and Bikini Time (blue). I normally use the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils, so I'm interested to see how these hold up. The L.A. Colors version can also be found at Five Below. The Rimmel version is likely available anywhere Rimmel is sold.

Also at Dollar General, I found Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bold Gold (for $3, which is the cheapest I've found any Color Tattoo jars), and L.A. Color's Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow w/ Brush in Sunshine (a pale gold). I want to try a gold eye makeup, so these are excellently timed finds. Loose eyeshadows definitely need a sticky base to adhere, so I'm glad I was able to find this Color Tattoo one which matches perfectly!

I've been basically collecting a few favorites of the Rimmel London Stay Glossy products. I have a black, and bright red. This one is a dark red (darker than the photo), called Yours Forever. I found it at Walmart, but I think I've seen it other places where Rimmel London is sold.

While in Massanutten, Alex and I needed to redo our toenails. While at Walmart on our 1st day there, we bought groceries, and also these two nail polishes (as well as some basic nail products...polish remover, emery boards, and cotton squares...but those aren't special enough to share). They've held up pretty good on my toes for a few weeks now. Left is Pure Ice's No Means No (which is a bit of a disturbing name, and doesn't make me think of purple in a positive way). It's the same on the nails as in the bottle, which is a plus. Right is Sinful Colors' Frenzy. It's a multi-colored glitter suspended in a sheer base. The glitters are super fine in purple, pink, and teal. I used 3-4 coats over 2 coats of the shimmery purple, to get a dense glitter impact. Once on, the blue is predominate, but still pretty to me.

Clinique has a "Gift with Purchase" event going on for a few more days, at Macy's. I don't always like the gifts, but this one I do like, which is why I opted to buy some things while it was on-going.

I forgot to look at my powder shade number before I left the house. I hadn't bought new powder in a long time, so I didn't think it would be hard to find. Thankfully, the lady tried some on my face from the tester, before I bought it. This is their Blended Face Powder and Brush in 03 Transparency 3 (MF/M) and it's actually nice a pale on me, which I like. When I got home, I looked at my old powder and it's an 08 Transparency Neutral. Hopefully this one will work fine over my I'm still getting used to that. It always seems too warm and unnatural for me, so hopefully this will be pale enough to look right.

I also bought Clinique's Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent. I've used this a lot in the pre-baby past. I love how it works well and I seriously needed something gentle and strong to remove my dramatic eye makeup before I wash my face! This stuff is awesome!

This is the gift with purchase that I got with my $25+ (around $45 for the above 2 products) purchases. It came with a nice size toiletry or makeup bag, a smaller bag that fits well into the bigger one (great for makeup brushes and eye pencils), 2 travel size makeup brushes, a travel size dramatically different moisturizing lotion, a travel size 7 day scrub cream, a full size lipstick in Shy, and a small palette with 2 eyeshadows (claimed to be purple, but they are more grey) in Twilight Mauve and Brandied Plum, a bronzer in Sunkissed, and a blush in Pink Blush.

This was a small haul compared to my past ones, but that's fine with me. I got some good products that will be very useful in the future!
