NYC FASHION WEEK F/W 2013: Barbara Tfank

Barbara Tfank's Fall Winter 2013/2014 collection is full on vintage inspired. That's her style of design. She makes me want to put on one of the dresses and drink martini's at a swanky cocktail party. Of all these stunning dresses, I do have a couple favorites. I love the 5th dress, which is a black brocade pencil dress with an asymmetrical neckline. This has a nice feel of coy sensuality. It's politely covered, while showing just enough skin to be sultry. I also love the 9th look which is a black pencil dress with a gold brocade, and a fur jacket. I love the proportions between the jacket and the dress. I'm not a fan of real fur, but this jacket would be lovely in a nice faux fur. I love the styling using metallic accessories. I love when the elements of an outfit match, which is essential for vintage styling. Overall this collection is beautiful. Though it has a strong vintage inspiration, the pieces are timeless. I've selected several looks from the collection to share. Since this was a presentation and not a runway show, to see the full presentation, go here.
