OOTD: Band Practice

Yesterday, we had League of Space Pirates band practice. I normally wear skirts, but occasionally I wear jeans on very cold days. Today was cool, but not so chilly that a skirt would be too light to wear.

My cardigan is from Target from several years ago. It's a soft grey sweater knit with ruffles on the front of it. It's a nice staple piece in my wardrobe.

My t-shirt is from Akumu Ink. I received it as compensation for a contest we did on Skull-A-Day. I got to choose any design from the shirts on their website. I thought this one of a girl sitting sort of pin-up style on a pile of skulls was very me. It's called the Umami Tshirt. It's a great quality shirt and print. I've actually been wearing it around the house for a few days, since I only wear this sort of over the top skull shirt in certain company...like today at band practice.

Under the shirt, I'm wearing an adjustable strap tank top with a shelf bra. I purchased it at TJ Maxx sometime this past summer when the adjusters of my old tank broke. It's a great layering piece, though it looks great by it's self. I rarely wear bras, so these sort of tanks are needed.

The cotton maxi skirt I'm wearing has sheering up each seam around the skirt. I love the texture the sheering creates, which makes it a little dressier than a plain cotton maxi skirt. I bought it at TJ Maxx a few years ago.

My boots are by Candies. I've had them for over 10 years. They are well loved and worn. They have fully adjustable lacing up the fronts, and full zippers on the inner sides of the boots. The platforms and heels are chunky, which make them easy to walk in. The tops stop a few inches below my knees. I bought them from a department store that Macy's now owns, and I used to work for. I think they were $100+ originally, but with a sale, coupon, and employee discount, they were about $60. They were well worth the cost.

I'm wearing knee high socks under the boots, but I've folded them down, so they don't show above the boot tops. If you need to know, they are white with a tiny cherry print.

I put my hair in a high pony tail, so it would stay out of the way during practice. In my hair, I have a black painted hair flower with a skull button center, and a purple velvet leaf clip. Both have alligator clips on the back, so I can easily position them in my hair securely. I made both of these hair clips.

As you can see, once again, I have no makeup on. I also have no jewelry. This outfit to me is a casual lazy one. It's super comfy. My band mates don't care what I look like at practice, but I always like to dress up a bit if possible.

My daughter took the 1st 3 photos. I took the last photo.
