LONDON FASHION WEEK S/S 2013: Temperley London

I've loved Alice Temperley's Temperley London line for many years. I was pleased to see an updated version of her Temperley gal in her Spring Summer 2013 collection. I've looked through the entire collection and chosen my favorite looks. To see the full show, watch the video at the bottom of this post. As a small gal, I'm not afraid of horizontal stripes, but wearer be ware, it's not flattering on everyone. However, thankfully, the use of stripes was only part of the collection. Alice used a tapestry like flower print, brocades, lace, printed and embellished chiffons, tribal prints, and a laser cut fabric. Temperley's aesthetic is always heavy on embellishment and lux fabrics, which I love.

Of all these great pieces, my favorites are, the 3rd look with the sheer striped maxi skirt, and red wide V-neck 1/2 sleeve top. I love long skirts year round, but the sheerness of this one makes it feel lighter than the cotton skirts that I can wear year round. I can see this transitioning into Fall too, with a nice slip or additional maxi skirt under neath. My next favorite is the 5th look, which is the tapestry print dress with fitted sleeveless bodice and the full circle skirt. I really love this print. It's a different and more polished take on the ubiquitous floral print. A special dress like this, becomes a classic piece that doesn't go out of style, which is something you want when spending a lot of money on a beautiful piece. My next favorite is the 29th look, which is a great sexy little black dress in that laser cut fabric. With a full skirt lining, this is a dress that even Audrey would appreciate. I love the placement of this unusual cut out fabric. It has the sex appeal that a skin bearing fabric has, but is classier with the vintage inspired cut and styling. This is something that I would happily wear and would become a great go to dress for dressier occasions. It's interesting fabric is a conversation starter.
