NYC FASHION WEEK S/S 2013: Katie Gallagher

Lately, I've been really into wearing creams and blacks, so seeing Kate Gallagher's Spring Summer 2013 collection was intriguing. I like her play with volume and form fitting shapes. The fabrics are flowy or sculpted, which is a nice play on shape and movement of garments. The styling is laid back and consistent, letting the clothing stand out. These all feel very beachy and luxurious. Most of the outfits could easily translate from a relaxing beachwear to dinner with friends...a skirt over a swimsuit, a jacket over a bandeau, and a slip or leggings under a sheer skirt. Many of these pieces could easily fit into my existing wardrobe. I'm in love with the cream peplum tank and high-lo dress.
