CLOTHING: DIY Embellished Stockings
I've been in love with embellished stocking since seeing a wild pair by Heatherette, many years ago. Attaching embellishements to stockings seems like a difficult task because nylon is very delicate and runs easily. Of course tights are thicker than standard nylons/stockings and at it's thickest type can be almost sock like. I tend to wear a lot of thin tights, vintage style nylons, and lacy stockings. When I saw tutorials on embellishing many kinds of stockings, I knew I needed a change.
Here are some of my favorite tutorials for turning your stockings into embellished works of art. These range in skills from drawing (tracing), to painting (using stencil), to gluing, and to hand sewing (or use sturdy fabric glue). Not hard skills, but take your time while working on any of these, since the fabric is delicate and you need to make sure the placement suits your legs. I recommend using the tube idea in the 2nd tutorial for stretching your tights while working on any of the tutorials from 2nd on. This prevents you from accidentally stabbing or adhering anything to, your skin. Plus, I have sensitive skin, so getting those wet products on me for prolonged periods can irritate my skin.
