OUTFIT: Patchwork Play
I'm feeling a little reminiscent of the women in my family who are quilters, and of the patchwork garments I owned in the 90s. Patchwork is a classic way to combine fabrics into one item. This dress has various prints, but keeps the same neutral palette through the fabrics. For Fall, I paired it with a chunky spacedyed cardigan, thick leggings, and boots. The jewelry plays off the dress prints. The boots and bag are practical and on trend. If you would like to add some trendy items that will become long term, the boots and bag are great investment pieces. Similar dresses can be purchased new or vintage. The sweater can be layered with other casual solid or printed clothing, as can the leggings. I'm going to play with styling patchwork garments, to give you an idea of how you can make an old style into something new.
